Artficat I--Revision for Special Needs Children

1.Ben has low vision and as a result has difficulty reading printed text. He needs documents to be magnified greatly in order for him to be able to read them, or he can have the documents read to him.

In order for me to meet the needs of Ben I would have to magnify the activities that I will do in the classroom. I will first give the students a PowerPoint over the projector and screen. I would hope that this will be magnified enough for him but if it isn't I will use the magnifier in Windows so that he is able to see te information clearly. So on the next day, I wanted to use a video to review with them on what they had learned the previous with music and shapes. Instead of them watching this video individually, I will adjust and show the video over the projector so that I can adjust the size of the video so that Ben is able to receive the information as well as the other students. After two days of reviewing with a PowerPoint and a short video, I will then let the students do the activities that I have found on the computer individually. So I will personal assist Ben by putting the activities again in the magnifier so that he is able to use the activity to the best of his ability. I could give Ben some other activities to do, but as a teacher I don't want any of my students to feel left out.

One of the classroom activities that I have prepared is the students will make Shape FlashCards. So I will actually explained first to my class that some of us need more attention then others. I would then let Ben do his ShapeFlashCards on PowerPoint. If he uses PowerPoint he will be able to enlarge the font however big he wants to. I wanted to use another PowerPoint as a review for the students which I will use a projector as a resource. Instead of just letting Ben take the Quiz on the computer, as a treat I will let all of the students take the Quiz that I have made for the classroom.
